Cancer Center in Bay Area Top Work Place 2012

Top Work Place, Bay Arear News Group, 2012

PLEASANT HILL, Calif. – Diablo Valley Oncology (DVO), recently announced it has been named a Top Work Place in the Bay Area by the Contra Costa Times and Workplace Dynamics’ list of Top Work Places in 2012. The rankings in the Top Work Places are based on survey information collected by Workplace Dynamics, a company specializing in employee engagement and retention. Out of 1,387 organizations, only 75 companies were ranked as Top Work Places after employees submitted surveys. Rankings were composite scores calculated purely on the basis of employee responses about company leadership, compensation and training, diversity/inclusion, career development, family-friendly flexibility and values and ethics. Private companies and non-profits as well as publicly held businesses were included in the analysis. The Top Work Place List was spotlighted in the June 24th edition of the Contra Costa Times. The results of the survey appear in the Jobs, Careers & Education section of the Sunday newspapers that are part of the Bay Area News Group and are online at www.mercurynews.com.

Diablo Valley Oncology, founded in 2001, was selected in the small size category. Its focus is to deliver expert cancer and blood disorder care. Every day DVO employees deal with the extreme highs and lows of fighting cancer. Employees say their jobs make them feel like they are a part of something meaningful. “We get to know our patients and their families very well. We care for them, and about them, as if they were our own families. In turn, we receive from them the special gift of understanding that life is precious and not to be taken for granted,” says Lori Orr, COO. “Passion like this may seem hard to find, but it is what drives us every day at Diablo Valley Oncology.”

“Our physicians and management team understand that in order for us to provide the best care for our patients, we must first provide the best for our employees. Their happiness and satisfaction enable them to pass on the same to those we care for,” explains HR Manager, Lynnette Johnson.
